In 1922, a broke grill cook on Route 66 in El Reno, Oklahoma couldn't afford enough beef to feed striking railroad workers. So he smashed cheap white onions into the patty — and accidentally invented one of the greatest burgers in American history.
Born from hardship. Perfected through the Great Depression. Carried on today right here in Eastern Oklahoma.
